Game Time Change Request Form

Game Time Change Request Form

  • NCHBC Game Change Request Form. This form is designed to be filled out by the head coach or athletic director of the team only. This form is for request of a schedule change for whatever reason. Please note-- NCHC Dual Roster Policy: As always it is the NCHC policy that teams entering our tournaments have enough primary players to compete, our staff will look at all requests to accommodate dual rostering, however, each player must know who their primary team and each team must have enough primary players to begin each game of the tournament. Ultimately each team must be prepared for conflicts that our staff is unable to accommodate. With that said, our staff will review all request, but many request will simply not be feasible.
  • List your program name, also if you have more than 1 team in an age group, please identify which team this is. Example: San Juan Crusaders (B), (II), (Maroon), etc
  • Select all that apply
  • Your AD will receive a BCC of the confirmation email you will receive with this seeding form.
  • If this is you, please list an alternative # to reach you in the event we are needing to make an emergency change to accommodate your request.
  • Select all that apply
  • This is your opportunity to tell us your issue, conflict, etc.
  • We fully respect most reasons, although even with the best reason we are often not able to accommodate the request.

Owen Gray Heart of a Champion Nominations

2020 Owen Gray Heart of a Champion Nominations

We are excited to present the 5th Annual Owen Gray Heart of a Champion Award!  This award is different than any other award presented at the Nationals.  The Owen Gray Heart of a Champion is awarded to a player or coach who exemplifies the love of Christ in their life.  A Heart of a Champion deeply cares for their community and others above themselves.

2020 submission deadline:  Sunday March 8 by Midnight

The award’s namesake and the first recipient, Owen Gray, is a student who learned he had Marfan Syndrome and could not play basketball or participate in sports anymore.  He took this hardship and soared on wings like eagles. He raised money for the Marfan Foundation, raised national awareness for the Marfan Foundation, is constantly visiting and loving kids who are ill, never focuses on how things are hard for him, but cares for others.

Owen will be once again assisting in the hard process of deciding a recipient for this award.

This year we are proud to once again award this to a deserving player or coach.  We get some great submissions for this award, and this year we wanted to share the amazing things these athletes and coaches are doing.

Seeding Correction Request Form

Regional Correction Request Deadline: Forms must be completed by Midnight, Friday, February 14th

Our goal is to strive to get the seeding as correct as possible, which is why we include the coaches in this process.

Before completing this form, please take a few minutes to read over the information provided below.

  • We acknowledge that mistakes will be made in the process of seeding over 1,000 teams in a 45 day period. We count on coaches to communicate these mistakes and notify us.
  • This year we have moved all seeding correction requests to a form in an effort to streamline the process.
When filling out this form it would help for you to understand that we view each completed form in one of the following categories.

    • Potential Mistake, Circumstantial Appeal, Evidence Appeal, and Don’t Understand/Agree
  • We have a seeding oversight committee from around the nation that will receive copies of the forms filled out. Any seeding committee member may respond individually or as a committee. In this form we have four categories for each form to be selected.

When we receive submissions that are evidence based (clear cut) mistakes, we fix these ASAP. Sometimes the situation is not as clear cut when we receive submissions that do not require a change.  We will do our best to respond, however it may not be until the seeding has gone final.

As you review the Preliminary Seeding please keep in mind: The opening round match-ups & potential quarter final match-ups (based on favorites winning) were taken into consideration. For example with a 7 team tournament, the #1 seed will have a BYE, #2 vs #7, #3 vs #6, & #4 vs #5. The goal of all our NCHC events is to provide the opportunity for unique match-ups whenever possible so if seeds 3-7 are somewhat comparable, a team may move up or down a spot or two with this in mind. Some situations make it impossible to avoid a 1st round match-up (or in the even skill larger tournament fields, likely quarter-final match-ups) with teams that have played each other multiple times during the year, or even a situation where teams are 1-1 vs each other. While these are not ideal draws, it does occasionally happen. You are welcome to draw our attention to these as a potential mistake and we will review. With that said what we are really looking to avoid is first round or likely quarter-final match-ups with teams you are 2-0, 1-2, 2-2, etc.
Thank you for taking the time to review the preliminary seeding, the deadline for feedback is Thursday, Feb 13 at midnight.

Please Note any case that is made that disregards the following, posted, NCHC Policy, will not be responded to:

Seeding Forms/Game Deadline: For a game to count for seeding to an NCHBC Event it must either be played before the seeding deadline (Districts January 12th & Regionals/Nationals January 30th.) Results after these deadline may not be considered/counted for seeding, with the only exception being NCHBC ran Post Season events, which impact the seeding.

All submissions must be made within the short deadline given when the preliminary seeding is sent out. Otherwise it will likely be too late to make any changes, regardless of the category a submission falls into.
